A simple job-search trick to know if you should apply at all

Here’s something that can save you a lot of time.

Before applying to a role, try this quick check:

Search the exact job title on Google or LinkedIn and add the company name.

Now open 3–4 similar profiles of people who already work in that role at that company or similar companies.

Don’t read everything. Just scan:

– their years of experience

– the kind of projects they highlight

– how their current role is described

Now compare that with your own profile.

You’re not asking:

“Am I perfect for this role?”

You’re asking:

“Am I in the same range as people who already got this job?”

If the gap is very large (for example, most people have 4–6 years of experience and you have 0–1), it might not be the best place to spend time right now.

If the gap is small, even if you don’t meet every requirement, it’s worth applying.

This small check helps you avoid two common problems:

– applying to roles that are far out of range

– skipping roles where you actually have a realistic chance

Job descriptions can be misleading.

Looking at real profiles gives you a clearer picture of how hiring actually happens.

It takes a few minutes, but it helps you focus your effort where it matters.

AI agents already outnumber human visitors to your docs — now you can track them.

Your AI is resolving tickets. Is it keeping customers?

Resolution rates look great. But Gladly's 2026 Customer Expectations Report reveals the metric most CIOs are missing — and what the data says about where AI investments actually translate into retention, not just throughput.
