Learn to use LinkedIn search filters properly
it sounds simple, but it completely changes the quality of job openings you see.
Most people scroll LinkedIn randomly and think, “There are no good openings.”
But LinkedIn is like a search engine — if you don’t use filters the right way, it will keep showing you irrelevant or old posts.
Here’s what actually works:
Use the “Date Posted: Past 24 Hours” filter
This is the biggest secret.
Fresh jobs = higher chance of getting seen.
Many companies shortlist only from the first batch of applicants.
Set “Experience Level: Entry-Level / Internship / Associate”
Otherwise you’ll keep seeing 3–5 year roles and feel demotivated.
Turn on “Work Type: On-site / Hybrid / Remote” depending on your preference
It removes unnecessary noise.
Use keyword + location smartly
Examples:
“Frontend Developer Bangalore”
“Product Intern Delhi”
“Data Engineer Pune Freshers”
This narrows down the search to roles that actually match your skillset.
Save your search
Most people forget this part.
When you save a search, LinkedIn sends you alerts the moment a new role fits your criteria.
It’s like having a mini–job search assistant.
Don’t rely only on the general feed
The feed depends on the algorithm, not your needs.
Search filters let you control what you want to see.
When you start using LinkedIn this way, you’ll notice something interesting:
The jobs become more relevant, more recent, and more aligned with your skills — and you waste far less time scrolling.
It’s a small habit, but it puts you ahead of 90% of applicants who still apply randomly.
