Resume Tip (Super Practical & Easy to Do)

Take one project from your resume and rewrite its description using only “actions” and “results.”

Not features.

Not tools.

Not theory.

Just what you did and what changed because of it.

Most project sections look like this:

  • “Built a website using React”

  • “Created an API with Node.js”

  • “Used Python for data analysis”

But this doesn’t tell a recruiter anything.

It’s too generic.

Now here’s how you fix it:

Use this simple 2-part formula:

Action → Result

(What you built + what impact it had)

Example rewrite:

Instead of:

“Built a login system using React and Node.js”

Write:

“Built a login system with authentication and validation, which reduced login errors during testing and made the flow faster.”

Instead of:

“Did sentiment analysis using Python”

Write:

“Wrote a Python script to analyze comments and group them by sentiment, helping identify positive vs negative patterns.”

Instead of:

“Made a portfolio website”

Write:

“Created a personal site with optimized images and clean routing, improving load time from 3s to under 1s.”

These tiny improvements do 3 things:

  1. Makes your work look real (not classroom-level)

  1. Shows results (recruiters love this)

  1. Proves you actually understand what you built

This takes only 5 minutes per project.

Do this for at least one project today.

Your resume will instantly feel clearer, stronger, and more professional.
