Treat your job search like a process, not a mood.

Most people apply only when they feel confident or motivated. That’s unreliable. Instead, decide in advance what your minimum daily or weekly effort looks like—and stick to that, even on low-energy days.

For example:

  • 3–5 well-matched applications a day

  • Or 10–15 applications a week

  • Or 30 minutes daily for resume tweaks, referrals, or learning

This removes overthinking and burnout.

Also, stop rewriting your resume from scratch for every role. Create 2–3 strong versions of your resume (for example: one general, one backend, one frontend) and reuse them smartly. Minor tweaks are enough. Perfectionism wastes time and doesn’t improve shortlisting as much as people think.

Keep a simple tracking system. Even a basic notes app works:

  • Company name

  • Role

  • Date applied

  • Status (applied / rejected / interview)

This helps you spot patterns—like which roles reply and which don’t—so you can adjust instead of blindly applying.

Another important thing: apply even if you don’t meet every requirement. Job descriptions are wishlists. If you meet around 60–70% and can explain your work clearly, you’re eligible.

Lastly, protect your energy. Job searching is mentally heavy. Take one proper break every week where you don’t apply at all. Rest is not falling behind—it’s what allows you to continue.

Consistency beats intensity. Quiet, regular effort compounds more than panic-applying on random days.
