Look at the date when the job was posted.

If a role has been open for more than 30–40 days, the hiring situation may already be different from what the listing suggests.

Sometimes the team has already interviewed several candidates.

Sometimes an offer has been extended but the listing hasn’t been removed yet.

Sometimes the hiring priority has quietly shifted.

When you apply to roles like this, the chances of hearing back are naturally lower, even if your profile is a strong match.

This doesn’t mean older postings should be ignored.

It just means they should be treated differently.

For newer roles posted in the last few days, it usually helps to apply early and make sure the top half of your resume clearly matches the role.

For older roles, it often helps to first see whether the company has hired someone recently for that position or whether the team is still expanding.
